A new year, a new blog.

The previous Wordpress-based blog that I was running on vbsteven.com was a little outdated. Its last post was dated over 6 months ago, it had a lot of irrelevant content and links to dead projects.

So I decided to start over with a clean slate. New content, new blogging engine and a new design.

I chose Octopress for the blogging engine as it allows me to write posts in Markdown in my own preferred editor (emacs if you must know). It also allows me to serve this blog as a static html site, which reduces the load on my $8/month VPS that is hosting it.

I chose the Greyshade Octopress theme from Shashank Mehta for its clean look and responsive features.

I intend to write about my personal pet projects , my developer position at Argus Labs working on Jini and other software-related topics.
